Rolls engine ‘beautiful’

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright)

LONDON, Feb. 26. The Lockheed Aircraft Corporation has reported that its TriStar airbus test-pilot has found the performance of the Rolls-Royce RB2II engines by which it is powered—"as predicted in every aspect.” “They displayed beautiful flight characteristics,” the pilot said. Two TriStars have logged 60 hours in the air, and the tests, at Palmdale, California, have shown “significant progress.” A third aircraft will fly in April, and a fourth will be brought off the productionline early in May. “Production work on the aircraft is continuing at a reduced rate to meet engine availability,” Lockheed’* statement says.
