Water improved No longer was there any need to boil drinking water from the Kaikoura town water supply because the level of pollution had fallen, reported the health inspector (Mr R. W. Sutherland) to the February meeting of the Kaikoura County Council. The Department of Health had placed on record a strong recommendation to the council that the water supply be fully treated. As well, the main supply at Oaro, although improved, still needed attention.
