Dog show held at Timaru

TIMARU, Feb. 24. Ths winners of the various groups would have graced any show ring In the world,' according to the Judge of the South Canterbury Kennel Club's autumn show (Mr W. A. Wheatland, of Australia). Three hundred and seventy dogs, a fair representation of all dogs exhibited in New Zealand, were judged. There was a large attendance at the twoday show, which was held at the Showgrounds, Timaru. Results were as follows: Best toy: Mr and Mrs D. Brown’s miniature pinscher, Ngapara Buffy. Best toy, junior: Mrs A. K. Baynes’ pomeranian, Gold Bambi of Burwood. Best toy puppy: Mrs A. K. Bayne’s
Pomeranian, Gold Cavalier of Burwood.
Best terrier: Miss P. W. Skey’i West Highland White, Ch. Langsyne Linnhe. Best junior: Mrs E. F. Rodriques’s West Highland White, Von Ava MacTavish. Best puppy: Mrs R. O’Keefe’s bull terrier, Kremlla Karacatus. Best gun dog: Mr and Mrs W. J. Morris’s cocker spaniel, Green Glen Gamecock. Best gun-dog, junior: Mr T. H. Hodge’s cocker spaniel, Rossmount Brigand. Best gun-dog puppy: Mr L. C. C. Cook’s Irish setter, Red Rufus of Ballymean.
Best hound: Lambrigg Kennels I (Australia), standard short hair dachshund, Lambrigg Sorite. Best hound, junior Mr and Mrs A. Caithness’s beagle, Red vein Merry Boy. Best hound puppy: Mr and Mrs A. Caithness’s beqgle, Redvers RhapsodyBest sheep and cattle dog: Mr and Mrs P. Noble’s German shepherd, Arcadian of Elbin. Best junior: Mr and Mrs P. Noble’s German shepherd. Best puppy: Mr E. J. and Mrs Tate's Pembroke corgi, Queenwood Menzies.
Best non-sporting: Mr and Mrs iI. Todd’s samoyed, Taanoff of Tilenka. Best junior: Mr and I Mrs Thomson’s Schipperke, Sunny Slopes Little Pet. Best 1 puppy: Mrs E. J. Clarke’s Boxer, ; Super Smart. Championship Awards , Best in show: Lambrigg KenInel’s standard short hair Dach« ishund handled by Mrs E. Piper, I Christchurch. Reserve best in show: Mr and I Mrs D. Brown’s (Christchurch), ! miniature pinscher. Best junior in show: Mrs A. K. i Bayne’s (Christchurch), Pomeranian. - Best puppy in show: Mrs E. J. Clarke’s (Timaru) Boxer.
