FIRE IN WHEAT
Six acres lost at Tuahiwi
Fire destroyed about six acres of wheat and four paddocks of stubble at Tuahiwi at 2.50 p.m. yesterday. The fire started in some stubble on the property of Mr B. J. Frazer, spread to Mr G. W. Reid’s property where it burnt more stubble and destroyed about six acres of wheat. The fire was attended by the Rangiora and Kaiapoi Volunteer Fire Brigades, the Woodend Auxiliary Brigade and two water tankers from the Rangiora County Council.
It is not known how the fire started.
