“Legitimate wives”
A group of wives from a Government department has asked the Peruvian Government to pass a law that would punish women having I° VB affairs with married men, the Associated Press has reported. In a memorandum delivered at the Government palace, the wives said they needed protection for their “status as legitimate wives.” The instability of marriage increased if unmarried women who “preyed” on husbands were left unpunished.—Lima, February 7.
