Royal visit to Kenya
(N.Z.P.A.-Keuter— Copprtpht) NAIROBI, Feb. 6. Prince Charles and Princess Anne arrived in Nairobi by air tonight for a two-week visit to Kenya. They will meet President Jomo Kenyatta and carry out several social engagements. But they will also go deep into Kenya’s rugged bushland and see something of its wildlife. • Prince Charles plans a fiveday horseback safari through northern Kenya and during the second week of the visit will spend three days with Princess Anne at a safari camp. The Princess will spend a night at the famous Treetops Hotel, situated above a waterhole in central Kenya, from which animals can be seen coming to drink. The Queen spent a night there 19 years ago today. The next day the Queen, then Princess Elizabeth, learned of the death of her father. King George VI, and her accession to the Throne.
