Craft study fellowships
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. New Zealand craftsmen will be eligible to apply for travel fellowships to study or teach at a number of universities throughout the world under the auspices of the World Craft Council. This was announced by Mr D. Carson - Parker, president of the New Zealand chapter of the council. An initial fellowship fund of SUSIO,OOO has been established, which is expected to increase substantially. The fund has been named after the American founder and president of the world craft council, Mrs Vanderbilt Webb.
Mr Carson-Parker said the fellowships were for practitioners in any craft—such as weaving, pottery, or metal work.
