WASP NEST REMOVED

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Feb. 4. A huge wasp nest was removed from a gully behind a shop in Wakari Road, Dunedin, this morning. The nest was 4ft 6in high and 3ft wide in the middle.

Mr G. B. Bowen, who has been a pest control officer for many years, said that the nest was the biggest he had seen. Nearby residents had been plagued with wasps for a long time, and the site of the nest was traced by one of them. The wasps were killed last night, and the nest, full of dead wasps and larvae, took about two hours to dig out.
