Price rises sought
(N,Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Feb. 5. Twenty-six applications for price increases, covering a range of 17 commodities, have been lodged under the price justification scheme which comes into effect on February 15. The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Shelton) said he was very pleased there had not been an excessive rush of immediate applications.
“This proves that the business community is exercising some restraint,” he said.
