INSANITY FINDING

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Feb. 5. A 54-year-old clerk, Clifford Walter Sage, was found not guilty of the murder of of his wife on the grounds of insanity, by an all-male jury in the Supreme Court at Auckland today. He was sentenced by Mr Justice Perry to be kept in strict custody at Oakley Psychiatric Hospital until the pleasure of the Minister of Justice is known. The jury took two hours to reach its verdict. Mr E. R. Winkel appeared for the Crown, and Mr P. A. Williams and Mr D. A. Conway for Sage during the trial which lasted three days and a half.
