11 NAMED FOR OPEN

(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) LONDON.

Eleven of the 32 top professional players under contract to World Championship Tennis will take part in the New Zealand open titles at Auckland from March 1 to 7.

The main stars of the professional group—R. Laver, A. R. Ashe, J. D. Newcombe and A. D. Roche—will not be available, however, as they are contracted to compete in the Asian championships to be held over the same dates in Calcutta.

Among the 11 will be the former New Zealand Davis Cup player, B. E. Fairlie. The others are W. Bowrey, R Carmichael, R. Crealy, R. Ruffels, A. Stone (Aust-alia); R. Barth, R. Holmberg (United States); F. McMillan. R. Maud (South Africa); and T. Ulrich (Denmark).
