Dramatic drop in prices (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY, Feb. 5. Under half of the rams offered sold at an average price of $6OO, at the annual stud Merino sales in Sydney yesterday. Breeders described the sales as “the worst since the depression*” Of the catalogue of 290 rams, only 112 were sold, for an aggregate of $70,000. Last year 200 rams sold at an average of $1495. Breeders and selling agents blamed the slump in yesterday’s sale to low woolprices and the general economic state of the wool industry.
