Immigration bill
The Home Secretary (Mr Maudling) assured Parliament yesterday that the Government’s forthcoming legislation on immigration would not discriminate on the basis of colour. His questioner, a Labour M.P., had referred to speculation that the promised comprehensive bill would give favoured treatment to white would-be immigrants, at the expense of black Commonwealth States.—London, February 5.
