Litter in Hagley Park
Sir,—May I suggest several more litter bins be placed in the parking area just inside the Armagh Street bridge. I notice one or two bins near the pedestrian bridge to the kiosk but none between there and the Armagh Street bridge. Consequently this area is littered with dirty picnic papers.—Yours, etc., ANTI-LITTER.
January 27, 1971. [The City Council’s director of reserves (Mr H. G. Gilpin), replies: “The rubbish bins near the footbridge are of a temporary nature to be replaced when a suitable design for bins has been decided upon. However, in the meantime, additional bins of this type will be provided in the area. The correspondent is thanked for his interest in this matter.”]
