CHOIR TO SING CAROLS

The carol season is again near, and next week the choir of the Christchurch Harmonic Society will be off on its annual round of carol concerts about the city.

Children from six Christchurch schools will assist the, choir in the carol concerts in the Civic Theatre on December 12 and 14— Christchurch Girls’ High School, St Albans School, and St Andrew’s College on Saturday night, and Heaton Intermediate School, Linwood High School and Villa Maria College on December 14? These concerts this year will start at 7 pan., to allow parents to take young, children to them—an idea which will probably get a warm reception. Senior citizens as well as children will be cateredfor in the carol series.

The choir will give its annual carol concert for the aged in the Civic Theatre on Saturday afternoon, at 2 p.m., and has invited all senior citizens to attend.

More carol recitals, of a less formal kind, will be given by the choir later next week—in the Lane, Walker, Rudkin factory on December 16, and in the Millers, Ltd, store on December 18 Friday night. Excerpts from the “Messiah” will also be sung in these recitals, which will round off the choir’s activities for the year.
