Fake coins in pump
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 7. Five counterfeit 50c pieces have been found in a selfservice petrol pump at Thames. The bogus coins apparently worked the machine, Sergeant L. R. Abel, of the Thames police, said today. “They certainly look like genuine coins until you examine them closely,” he said. The “coins” were discovered in the machine on Friday. The counterfeit coins were dated 1967, said Sergeant Able. He asked peopleto watch for counterfeits.
