Vote on China criticised

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. The New Zealand Government’s vote against the admission of the People’s Republic of China to the United Nations was criticised today by the president of the New Zealand Students’ Association (Mr P. H. Grocott). “New Zealand is in a better position than many countries to develop closer relations with China,” said Mr Grocott. “It is tragic that despite this advantage the New Zealand Government has chosen to side with the anti-China bloc at the United Nations, and |o deny international recognition to the most populous nation in the world.”
