(N.I. Preu Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. Professor Comelio Masciardri, an Italian M.P. tn Auckland with the Italian trade mission, said ht an interview today that lie was in. favour of an "open common market” and free trade between as many countries as possible. The mission of 15 industrialists and four trade officials is in New Zealand to study the markets for medical instruments, packaging machines, refrigeration equipment and printing machines, and the New Zealand market in general
Professor Masciardri said that Italy was sympathetic to the problems New Zealand would face if Britain was admitted to the Common Market, and he would do all he could to secure New Zealand special status in the market to safeguard her trade position.
