Hawke’s Bay challenge
(N.Z. Preu Association) NAPIER. The Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union has decided to make a special challenge for the Ranfurly Shield to the holder, Canterbury, next season. Hawke’s Bay, which held the shield from 1966 until 1969, lost it in the final defence of that year to Canterbury—also a special challenge match. Hawke’s Bay is not down to tour the South Island until 1972.
