Travelodge leads trials
(N.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) SYDNEY. Travelodge has a clear points lead after the first four of six trial races being held on Sydney Harbour to select the New South Wales team to sail in the world 18-footer championships, at Auckland over Easter. Travelodge led nearly all the way to win the fourth heat on Sunday. It now has 299.99 points, followed by Willie B, 200.37; Nock and Kirby, 200; Aussie, 175.83; Petver Projects, 162.10; and Corrigan’s Express, 132.14. Two more heats will be sailed—on December 6 and 12—before the four-boat team to sail in New Zealand is chosen.
The Australian squad also will be announced, immediately after the conclusion of the sixth heat.
