Less building at Waimairi
Building permits issued by the Waimairi County Council last month showed a major decline—they were valued at $539,211, compared with $1,664,729 for October, 1969. A total of 129 permits was issued last month, compared with 148 a year ago. House permits fell from 45, valued at $451,562. to 31, valued at $370,295. No permits were issued for other than commercial buildings, whereas in October, 1969, three of these permits .were valued at $1,042,690.
