N.Z. NETBALL TEAM WINS
Derbyshire overwhelmed (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) DERBY (England). The New Zealand netball team beat Derbyshire, 100-25, in the opening match of Its tour of Britain, and a great cheer went up as Mrs F. Wiring! scored the one hundredth goal right on time. For New Zealand, Mrs Wlringl scored 71 goals and missed five, and the captain, Mrs J. Harnett, scored 29 and missed eight. Derbyshire, playing the onehanded passing game, was overwhelmed by the at New Zealanders, who shot accurately and passed well. The New Zealand zone defence was not broken during the game. The combination of Mrs Harnett, Mrs Wiring!, and Mrs O. McKay worked soundly on attack. Mrs Harnett took over the shooting In the second quarter when Derbyshire blocked Mrs Wiring!, but mostly she was content to feed Mrs Wiring!. The other New Zealand players were Miss S. Langrope, Miss B. Walker, Mrs L. Mair, and Miss T. Vercoe. There was a full stadium for the Indoor game, and the New Zealanders said the umpiring was excellent.
