ANIMAL HEALTH DIVISION Department of Agriculture ASSISTANT LIVESTOCK INSTRUCTORS DUTIES: Assistant Livestock Instructors are employed primarily to carry out testing of dairy and beef cattle in the National Disease Testing programmes. Appointees are encouraged to follow a study course including animal health, law and management and to sit an examination to qualify as Livestock Instructors. Qualified Livestock Instructors have much wider technical and regulatory duties in the field of animal disease control; assisting departmental veterinarians in disease investigations; extension work in animal diseases prevention.
