[UNIVERSITY VACANCIES THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY JOHN CURTIN SCHOOL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH RESEARCH FELLOW OR SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOW IN CLINICAL SCIENCE THIS Research Fellowship is tenable in the Department of Clincial Science of the John Curtin School of Medical Research. The - Department, situated in the Canberra Hospital, has modem laboratories and equipment and a 12 bed metabolic ward. Facilities for animal experimentation are available. Clincial responsibilities are related to investigational interests which are orientated towards problems associated with coronary heart disease. Current studies are concerned with lipid, carbohydrate and endocrine metabolism, cardiovascular function and thrombus formation and lysis in relation to obesity, diet and other factors incriminated in coronary proneness. Some work Is carried out In New Guinea. Applicants should preferably be medical graduates less than 35 years of age and have had post-graduate training including substantial research experience.

Research Fellows and Senior Research Fellows are normally appointed for three years, with possible extension to a maximum of five years. The salary ranges are: Research Fellow $6318-$8698; Senior Research Fellow $9360$11,190 per annum. Superannuation is on the F.S.S.U. pattern with supplementary benefits. Reasonable family travel and removal expenses are paid. Assistance with housing is provided.
