“Eighteen art critics”
Sir,—That civilisation may not sink, its great battle lost, quiet the critic. silence the
laugh, lest the whole thing collapse! I hope that the five signatories to this morning’s letter objecting to city councillors laughing at an artist’s work will refrain in future from laughing at city councillors and will persuade all their artist friends to refrain from destructive criticism ot the work of others.—Yours, etc., C.
