New traffic head
The Ministry of Transport’s chief traffic officer at Waimairi, Mr A. Goldsmith, has been appointed Christchurch city traffic superintendent to replace Mr J. F. Thomas, the regional secretary for transport (Mr D. L. Hogan) announced yesterday. Mr Goldsmith will probably take up his new post
at the beginning of next week. Mr Thomas has been promoted regional director of the road transport division of the Ministry, and he will also take up his new appointment within a few days. Mr Goldsmith has been the Ministry’s chief traffic officer at Waimairi for the last nine years. Before that he was a senior traffic officer, and he ran the Ministry’s traffic school when it was based in Christchurch.
