(N.Z. Press Aatociatton) WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. The vice-president of the Wellington Automobile Association and National member for Miramar, Mr W. L. Young, said in Parliament tonight he would not be voting against the petrol tax bill. Mr Young said during the second-reading debate on the bill that he could“in all conscience” vote in favour of the measure. It had been suggested that he should cross the floor of the House to vote against the measure. But, said Mr Young, it was the Labour member for Island Bay, Mr J. G. O’Brien, a Wellington City Councillor, who should cross the floor.
His council had asked the Government to implement the measure, said Mr Young.
