Lady Branksome shows fitness for Feilding sprint
“The Press” Special Service * PALMERSTON NORTH. Lady Branksome excelled in her first gallop at Woodville yesterday morning and she seems close to her hest for the Colyton Handicap at Feilding.
Lady Branksome was accompanied by Count Kereru, which is also making pleasing progress. He seems likely to take beating in the open sprints at the Woodville meeting. Another to impress was the Levin candidate, Phar Lace. Working 30 feet out on the course proper, Lady Branksome and Count Kereru ran five furlongs in Imin 2 3-ssec, the last three in 37 3-ssec, with Count Kereru a neck in front at the finish and really i galloping in his best style. Lady Branksome has made good progress this week and :is not without a good light--weight’s chance in the second peg at. Feilding. - Phar Lace is well forward .to resume at Levin on Tuesday. FORWARD ,| Barometer looks forward [to resume on his home track next week. He ran the best .half-mile of the morning and [was just in front of Petite Bonne in 49 3-ssec, the last
