Always a prospect in this class. 2 3300 IMPARTIAL (14) 0-5. Too slow early to have a chance in recent sprint starts. Might be ready to do better this distance. 3 0902 PACIFIC PRINCE (4) 0-4. Does not often win but last-start second at Te Rapa over Ilf, on Saturday, looked promising. 4 4100 RED FILOU (15) 0-4. Won over 9f at New Plymouth in August in moderate company. Since outpaced and well back over a middle distance at Rotorua and mile

Since well beaten at Avondale and Ellerslie. Would need to improve on those performances even for this lesser company. 11 3210 SCOT'S BARD (10) 8-1. Won high-weight mile two starts back at Hastings. Improved gelding which has been racing solidly in

intermediate and hack company. Came from well back in hack 7 furlongs at Te Rapa last Saturday after winning in intermediate class at Ellerslie. Down 161 b from last week. Looks real chance. D. Wyatt. 13 0 COUGAR (20) 0-0. Long way back at last start in open mile at Ellerslie on November 7 when resuming after a spell. Very hard to fancy on latest form. Weak showings at Rotorua and Tauranga. Would need to improve greatly. 16 0249 BEAU DEE (2) 7-13. 16a 2020 DASHING DEE (3) 7-13. Speedy but faded badly last Saturday in hack mile at Te Rapa. Recent seconds were at Avondale and Tauranga. Should be prom* inent but might find last bit difficult. 17 9000 ELBE JAY (7) 7-13. Looked very promising a season or two back but has shown nothing of any account since he resumed from a long spell. Not fancied. B. Compton. 18 KINGIE (10) 7-13. Has not raced since July 25. Even in best form would be hard to fancy and should need this race. J. Riordan. 19 900 MR SOLO (17) 7-13. Weak performances in three starts this season. Finished near rear at latest attempt in mile at Ellerslie on November 7. 20 1158 SANDPIPER (16) 7-13. Andrews. 2 1 SUPREME MISS (4) 8-4 Smart mare which showed her best form last start when she won over 7 furlongs at Avondale from wide barrier position. That was first race since autumn. a mile at Ellerslie before that but managed good second over 6f at Ellerslie on October 3. 4 • PARDON (4) 7-13. Dropped right out at last start over 6f at Rotorua on October 24, In first race after spell. Speedy and likely to have come on quickly with his Rotroua run. Worth watching. R.
