All Blacks’ defects
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Three defects —at the tackle, scrum and line-out—-in the All Black pattern were spotted by the South Africans and helped the Springboks defeat New Zealand, Dr D. H. Craven, president of the South African Rugby Board, said yesterday. “The whole of New Zealand—and I have watched your schoolboys and under 20s play—has accepted a pattern which is wonderful, but it has defects,” he said. “We were in the fortunate position that we could watch you match after match and we could sum up your pattem 100 per cent,” he said.
