BUTTER AND CHEESE

Lower output seasonal (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. Dairy production in New Zealand is down by about 5 per cent this year, compared with the output at the same date last year. The New Zealand Dairy Board is attributing the fall in production to the cool, wet spring, not to any reduction in milking-cow numbers. The sharpest decrease in production has been in South Auckland, the Bay of Plenty and Hawke’s Bay. A spokesman for the board today said that unless there was a drought, production might well increase in the summer and autumn. The industry’s products were in strong demand at present and the board could sell all that was produced. |
