Hotels urged
At least two multi-storey, central city hotels would be needed to cater for the 1974 Commonwealth Games in Christchurch, said the president of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce (Mr J. M. Tocker). As it would take two years to build them and another year would be needed to allow for unforeseen delays and settling down decisions to build should be made now, he said. The Minister of Tourism (Mr Walker) should see that guarantees were available right away for any reasonable hotel projects and these guarantees should not be delayed by impossible terms. z
