Antiques sell well
Good antiques fetched high prices at an auction conducted in Wellington on Thursday on behalf of vendors all over New Zealand by Dunbar Sloane, Ltd. The catalogue of items was valued at more than $BO,OOO. Top price after the first three hours was $528 paid for six Georgian chairs., A brass incense burner on a stand fetched $320. One of the prized items, a jade vase standing 18 niches high and reputed to have left China! during the 18th century as part of a gift to Siam, ap-| peared to be beyond the resources of New Zealand col-! lectors and was passed in.
