Increased fees for examiners
(N Z. Press Association! WELLINGTON, Sept. 17. Increased fees would be paid to examiners and assessors for examinations conducted by the Department of Education on behalf of the Trades Certification Authority for 1970, the Minister of Education (Mr Talboys) said today. "Fees payable to an examiner setting a three-hour paper will rise from $5O to $6O, the marking fee will be increased from 75c to 85c for a three-hour paper, and assessors’ fees for certain subjects will rise from $4 to $5 a paper with a minimum payment of $10,” he said m a statement. “In addition, a new fee will be introduced for assessors for examining scripts submitted for year-four examination subjects at the rate of $2 per school.” An assessor’s function is to scrutinise proposed examination papers.
