New Safety Campaign
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 4. A New Zealand-wide campaign to promote greater care at intersections will, begin on Monday, the Minister of Transport (Mr J. B. Gordon) said in a press statement today. Last year 4838 accidents occurred at intersectiones, accounting for 150 persons killed and 7115 injured. More than 83 per cent of these could be attributed to an error on the part of one or more of the drivers involved, said Mr Gordon. He said that drivers forgot rules, or were careless in observing them.
