DOG WINS AWARD FOR DEVOTION.—-Moses, a five-year-old black and white Labrador, receives an award for “outstanding devotion’’ from the Mayor of the Blue Mountains, New South Wales (Alderman J. M. Powell). For 43 hours the dog stayed faithfully by the side of its maser, Mr Mark Watson, after Mr Watson fell down a 60ft cliff in the rugged Jamieson Valley. Searchers, directed by Moses’s barking, found the injured man, who is now in hospital with both legs broken. The award was made by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
