Jesson Wins ‘Mini-Tour’
J. Jesson (Mairehau), who won the time trial and was prominently placed in the other three stages, won the Mairehau Novice Wheelmen's 60-mile cycling "mini-tour.” The most unfortunate of the 30 competitors was G. Palatchie (Blenheim). He won two of the sections and finished fifth in another but broke a pedal in the third stage and was forced to ride the last five miles using only one leg. He finished seventh in the general classification.
