FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—Frontal zones have moved eastwards over New Zealand; a westerly airflow covers the Tasman Sea and most of New Zealand. Forecast:

Canterbury, Kaikoura Coast, and Central Marlborough.—North-west to west winds strong at times; showers in and near the western ranges; fine and mild elsewhere. Marlborough Sounds. Fresh northwest winds; fine with moderate temperatures. Nelson.—Westerly winds strong at times in the north, otherwise moderate to fresh; fine with moderate temperatures. Buller and Westland. —Moderate to fresh north-west winds; cool with showers and fair periods. Outlook: showers in the west of the ranges; fine in the east.
