“Go Slow”
Sir, —Perhaps 1 have missed; the official interpretation from the Post Office Association, but could someone please explain in what way a “go-slow" policy is implemented in the Post Office and how the man in the street is affected by it? —Yours, etc. INTERESTED. September 2. 1970. [The general secretary of the Post Office Association (Mr I. E. Reddish), replies “The go-slow policy is implemented in different ways by different areas. Initially the man in the street will be affected in the operation of mail-sorting, tolls and telegraph services. Over-the-counter services will not be affected to the same extent initially. The association would like to make it clear that it has been most reluctant to take this action but in view of the Government’s refusal to agree to meaningful negotiations the association
has been forced to take this step.” J
