ASPAC FELLOWSHIP EXCHANGE PROGRAMME THE CULTURAL and Social Centre for the Asian and Pacific Region has implemented an ASPAC Fellowship Exchange Programme. One Fellowship will be available to a New Zealand citizen for travel land study in the ASPAC region which comprises Australia, the Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand the Philippines. Thailand and the Republic of Vietnam. The Fellowship Programme which is open to creative writers, scholars, journalists and artists of various fields including stage and dance performers aims at promoting regional understanding by providing an opportunity for fellows to acquire direct experience of the way of life in another ASPAC member country and to undertake observation and studies in their respective fields of interest through personal contacts with the peoples of the country they visit. The Fellowship will be for a period of six weeks during the first half of 1971. Applicants should select one of the ASPAC countries as the' place of study and. if possible, also indicate an alternative country in which to study. On termination of the award the fellow will be required to submit a written report to the centre. Under the award, the Fellow will receive an economy class return air ticket to the selected country, plus a per diem allowance of SUSIS.OO for a period of Six weeks.
