‘No Reason Known’

Metals Exploration, NL, informed the Melbourne Stock Exchange yesterday that the company knew of no reason for the sharp increase in the price of the company’s shares. The company was not waiting for any assay results, nor were there any matters of importance to be announced, the company said. Exploration In Fiji

Island Mines, Ltd, in which Poseidon associate North Flinders Mines N.L. has the major shareholding, has been formed to explore for minerals in the Fiji islands group. Shareholders are North Flinders Mines, Poseidon, Australian Development N.L., Mining Corporation of Australia, Ltd (which will be a public company floated by Burrill and Associates) and some individual shareholdings. Mr Shierlaw said that a public flotation was not planned at this stage.
