Fair Visit Sought
Messages seeking a visit to Lyttelton by the Japanese “floating fair” scheduled to visit Auckland and Wellington soon will be sent to the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce, the Japanese Embassy in Wellington, and the New Zealand Embassy in Tokyo by the council of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce. Members expressed dissatisfaction at the news that the floating fair would call only at Auckland and Wellington.
“This is not the first time this has happened,” said the chamber’s president (Mr J. H. Tocker). The fair would be missing out half of New Zealand by area, and onethird of it by population.
