DEFECTION BY POLES
Families Hide In Tank (N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright; ROENNE (Denmark), Sept. 1. A fishing captain from Poland, his two sons and crew members hid their families inside a newly-painted oil tank, sailed their ship across the Baltic Sea to Denmark, and asked for political asylum yesterday. It was the third defection to Denmark by Polish citizens in the last two weeks. Police said 41 Poles had requested asylum this year. The affair involved 10 persons, all of whom were questioned at Roenne Police Station and then transferred to the Foreign Police Department in Copenhagen.
