Headline Error
Sir,—lt is with regret that I bring to your attention an error in reporting the theme of my address to the Geographical Conference. The report, published on your front page on August 28, was headlined. “Segregation Still An Ideal.” I can assure you that the headline would be more correct and meaningful had it read “Integration Still An Ideal.” Similarly, “integration” should replace “segregation” in the first sentence of the report. This is an unfortunate error, and one I am sure you will allow me to bring to the attention of your readers.—Yours, etc., A. D. TRLIN. Lecturer in Geography, Massev University. August 28, 1970. [The misquotation in the headline was corrected, and regret expressed, in our issue of August 28. The further error, which had escaped our notice, is equally regretted.— Ed., “The Press.”]
