Macßae May Miss Saturday’s Test
(N.Z Press Assn.—Copyright) CAPE TOWN. The All Black, I. R. MacRae, may miss the vital third test on Saturday. Yesterday he failed to satisfy himself he could play against Southern Universities today and withdraw from a New Zealand team for the second consecutive game. He has a deep-seated bruise on the thigh. W. D. Cottrell was moved back to second five-eighths and W. L. Davis brought in at centre. Another casualty is B. E. Holmes, the All Black flanker, who yesterday entered a Cape Town hospital for two days. He has pleurisy and it was thought he would recover more quickly if given proper treatment.
The wing, B. G. Williams, is taking pain-killing injections for his injured shoulder. He may be more seriously troubled by it than the All Black management is prepared to concede. He had another of the injections yesterday after the All Black training run.
There is doubt, also, that-' the lock, A. E. Smith, will be' able to play again on tour. He has six stitches inn his right heel, and with the' tour having less than weeks to run, the chances of* him playing again are grow= r ing slimmer. Yesterday, he was forced to' stop training, and said. “J--just can’t stretch on it.”
