Pan American Airways yesterday feigned payment of $lOO,OOO ransom demand to an anonymous caller who threatened to blow-up a Boeing 707 with 148 persons aboard, unless he was paid off. “We made a calculated decision that it was a bluff and went through the motions of paying without ever intending to do 50,7 said an airline spokes man.
