Australian Award.
The Australian Government has offered Field-Marshal Lord Slim, Governor-General of Australia from 1953 to 1960, an annual pension of $7500. This decision, to give former governors-general pensions in particular circumstances, will affect only two of those who have held the post The other is Sir William McKell, the second Aus-tralian-born governor-gen-eral, who held office from 1947 to 1953.—Canberra, Aug. 25.
