Caulfield Ride For Marsh

“The Press’* Special Service HASTINGS. The Hawke’s Bay jockey, B. B. Marsh, will ride in the Invitation Stakes at Caulfield on September 24 as New Zealand’s representative. The Victoria Amateur Turf Club yesterday issued an official invitation to Marsh and he accepted. He expects to be in Melbourne from September 21 to September 25 at least. The Invitation Stakes is one of the feature races in Victoria each season and a few years ago it was won by St Joel, which was ridden by G. F. Hughes. This will be the first time Marsh will have ridden outside New Zealand. E. J. Didham was invited first this year but had to decline because he will be representing New Zealand at the Asian Bacing Conference meeting in Singapore at that time.
