Parliament’s Diary
The Construction Amendment Bill, the Development Finance Corporation Bill, and the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Bill were introduced and read a first time when Parliament resumed yesterday morning. The Marlborough Forestry Corporation Bill was Introduced, read a first time, and referred to the Local Bills Committee. The Social Security Amendment Bill, a private member’s measure, was introduced by Mr N. J. King (Lab., Birkenhead) and read a first time. Ministers answered 29 questions. The annual report of Air New Zealand was tabled.
Second readings were given the Estate and Gift Duties Amendment Bill and the Private Savings Banks Amendment Bill.
