Candidates should have either an engineering qualification with post-graduate qualifications in a related scientific field, or a science qualification with extensive experience in close association with engineers and engineering problems. This Group is supported by a project grant from the Medical Research Council of New Zealand and is under the direction of Associate Professor F. O. Simpson. It is backed by excellent facilities in the Wellcome Institute and in the Hypertension Clinic of Dunedin Hospital. Applicants should have some experience in hypertension or, alternatively, in cardiovascular or renal work or in clinical pharmacology. An interest in data processing would be useful. The successful applicant will be expected to carry out clinical research in some aspect of hypertension, to share in the care of in-patients and outpatients attending the Hypertension Clinic, and to take part in some clinical teaching. An appointee with suitable qualifications would be second in charge of the Group. Grading will be according to qualifications and experience.
